the non lucrative visa (nlv)

What is it?
A visa for non-EU citizens who have sufficient financial means to stay in Spain WITHOUT engaging in any paid work or employment.
• Also called Retirement Visa or Non Working Visa.
• The visa given by the Consulate will be valid for 90 days. Once in Spain, a TIE must be applied to obtain the 1-year residency permit, which is renewable for another 2 years.
• A path to Spanish citizenship (For Filipinos, need to prove 2-year stay in Spain in order to be eligible).
• Can bring immediate family members as dependents (spouse/ partner/ children/ adult children who are financially dependent on main applicant due to being unmarried and without income/ parents who are financially dependent on main applicant).

Who is eligible?
Retirees/ individuals with no active employment or on a career break/ fresh grads/ passive income earners (property renters, silent investors/ shareholders/ businessowners) with savings that meet the minimum requirement.
Where to apply?
Spanish Consulate in Manila/Cebu via BLS International.
How long will the application take?
Around 3 months, highly dependent on appointment slots' availability and pace of applicant in collating all requirements.

1. Proof of funds (bank certificates and bank statements):
• at least €2260/month in the past 12 months
• additional €565/month/dependent
• officially translated
2. NBI clearance
• within 3 months of issuance
• apostilled by DFA, and officially translated
3. Private health Insurance certificate:
• by a Spain-accredited provider
4. Medical certificate
• by a DOH-accredited clinic
• certified by DOH, apostilled by DFA, and officially translated

5. Accomplished national application form6. One (1) recent passport‐size photo with white background7. Valid passport (at least 12- month validity)8. Photocopy of the data page of passport9. Accomplished application form EX – 0110. Accomplished 790 tax form (code 052)-There may be additional requirements depending on your situation
